I speak Canadian eh! That means I spell words like colour, humour, or favour properly. It means that my alphabet ends with a Zed, not a Zee. It means the beer store is a couple of kilometres away rather than a mile & a half or so. It means that when I say a bag of milk, I really do mean a BAG. And it means I pepper my speech with eh instead of y’all. Yes, that’s my subtle way of pointing out to non-Canadians that, despite what your dictionary says, my blog is not full of spelling errors…because…
I AM CANADIAN!
All kidding, & stereotypes, aside, July 1st is the day for Canadians everywhere to stand proud & celebrate the great blessings of our incredible country. So in honOUr of Canada Day, I will now revert back to the kidding & the stereotypes to amuse & delight folks from all nations!
Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians across the globe! And of course, a Happy Independence Day coming up to all of my American friends…from the only country to ever invade yours & burn down the White House..which, ya know, is kind of misleading since we ourselves were still under British rule during the War of 1812 & not technically a country in & of ourselves. But it’s fun to poke fun eh! And quite possibly some of you may get your retribution on @$#*%! Friday! But I’m okay with that…’cause we Canadians are a polite, laid back kinda folk…so I’m told…apparently I’m not your stereotypical Canadian! But I AM all about the honesty, so I feel compelled to confess to something…I actually DO say Zee. I attended Kindergarten in Poughkeepsie, New York, thus my first introduction to the alphabet, & the one that stuck with me forever, included the letter Zee. Besides, Zed just doesn’t rhyme with the damn song…I have to say, the Americans got THAT one right! Don’t forget to link up your own Wordless Wednesday with the dashing man-about-town, Mr. Linky!

I’m not Canadian nor a Brit, but I still favour spelling grey with an e honour with a u a as well as colour, don’t know where I picked up the habit but y’all know it’s might hard to break eh. I find furry animals much less threatening the Uncle Corporation, but American I am for all that.

I went to college 30 minutes from the Canadian border, and the only ID required to get an ice cold Molson (or 12, apparently Canadians are a little lax on the whole “overserve” issue too) was a piece of paper that said “I am 19″. Go Canada!
Happy Canada Day. I spent a little time in Montreal. The Canadians are a much prouder people. They actually put their trash in the containers rather then on the ground. And for the most part very friendly.I loved it there. Hope you have a good day.

We too buy milk in a bag (when not taking it straight from the cow or goat.) I alternate my spelling of grey’s/grays just beause I can. Zed sounds more like a name than an letter, but so do Bea, Cici, and Jay. Doesn’t stop parents from using them.

Happy Canada Day, my friend! My SIL, who’s Canadian (I know! We let her into the family!), gave us a hand-me-down toy that sings the alphabet. And, yes, it ends in Zed. Which throws me every time, but I must admit I now sing it that way on occasion.
